Spanish agency association ASEPROCE has expanded its market coverage with the acceptances of four new member agencies, all established companies in the study abroad sector.

At the ASEPROCE General Assembly at the end of last year, the association accepted STEP Travel , Sheffield Centre , Juventud y Cultura , and FSL – Foreign Study League as members.

Pablo Martinez de Velasco , President of ASEPROCE, told StudyTravel Magazine that this expansion represented one of the most important moments in the association’s history, as some of these agencies had previously been members but left 15 years ago to form a separate group.

“Their return now confirms the full unity of the sector within our association, the only body representing the profession in Spain,” Pablo said.

“This unity represents a major advantage both for companies, which now have a single representative body, and for students, who are protected under the ASEPROCE umbrella,” he continued.

“Spain does not have a specific law regulating the sector beyond legislation related to academic recognition. For this reason, ASEPROCE created the ASEPROCE Standard, which all member companies must comply with, and which is certified through an external audit. This quality seal guarantees both clients and educational institutions that they are working with reliable agencies that offer full guarantees.”

During a presentation to delegates at the ST Alphe Spain 2026 conference last week, Emilio Bordona Soriano , President of Spanish agency InterWay and association board member, said that ASEPROCE now comprises of 71 member agencies and has an estimated market share of 75 per cent.

He also told delegates that language plus programmes and longer-term courses were currently growth areas for the association.

An interactive competition on the association’s history and work and the regulations of the Spanish market during the seminar was won by Colm O’Byrne of ATC Language Schools in Ireland.

ASEPROCE, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year, is a member of the Federation of Education and Language Consultant Associations ( Felca ) and was inducted into the StudyTravel Super Star Hall of Fame in 2021 after winning the ST Star Agency Association category for a fifth time.
